The Rise Of Bandit Keith
By JillieFoo

Bandit Keith was a man of great skill, of greed, of foul play, and of the undead.  He's been through a lot; he went through a horrid depression that involved sex, drinking, gambling, and drugs. He tired to cheat to gain retribution, failed, and was sent to his death. Pegasus forced him to visualize his own death thanks to his millennium eye, and was then tossed into the ocean and left for dead. He was lucky enough to be saved but the villainous Marick and was forced under his mind control to fight Yugi muto in a battle for his millennium puzzle. Keith failed, and in his insane and ranting state, he shattered the puzzle and continued to cause destruction in the dueling arena until he cause a fire. He screams in insane bursts as he clenched his head and ran out of the arena, fearing for his life. (This is where I start making stuff up) he was shortly arrested by the police for kidnapping a girl and shouting that the ghosts were after him and to get them out of his head. He was quickly put in a mental facility, feeling like a former shell of a man he once was, he never acted the same. His old gang eventually found him, not to say hi, but to take his best Duel monster cards. His Deck was divided amongst his gang and taken. This depressed Keith even further, not having a single person he can even count on anymore, betrayed by his own gang. A young man approached Keith one day at the mental facility, telling him of a way for him to regain his former glory, though Keith was too far gone to really understand anymore. He eventually let his depression get the best of him and he hung himself in the mental ward.

(Back to the facts) Keith suddenly awoke in a cold sweat, looking around frantically, he found Yako Tenma looking down at him. He had been revived by the very man who had visited him in the mental ward before hanging himself. He told him that he had been revived using the powers of the wicked gods. Keith didn't' understand it, but he felt like a new man, like his old self. He was given the Wicked Eraser card by Yako and eventually set his eyes on revenge against the one person still living that had embarrassed him and contributed to his depression, Joey wheeler. He was given a deck by Yako, though it barely contained any of the cards he had before. (Making this up) Yako told him, this deck is the only think holding him together, but it won't last forever, and the only way to save his soul from damnation was to find what was his. (Back to the facts) not understanding Yako's statement, Keith set off for revenge to face Joey wheeler. He finally found Joey and challenged him to a duel; he could've won using the wicked Eraser, but claimed that card was too easy to win with and sacrificed it. The duel eventually ended with Joey as the victor and that the wicked eraser card was destroyed, he felt something was wrong. He fell against a wall near where they were dueling. Joey told him he'd face him again if he tried to become a true duelist. Joey pulled out the old time machine card that Keith had dropped at duelist kingdom a long time ago and handed it to him in good faith that Keith would listen to his advice. (Making this up) Keith reached over and grabbed the cards and felt a rejuvenating flow of energy in his body. He slid down the wall and realized what Yako's words meant; he had to get his old deck back. He realized that much like a samurai's sword, a duelist's deck holds their soul. If he wanted to keep on living, he had to get his deck back at whatever the cost may be.
I decided Keith needed some love for a change, so why not start my own fanfic. NOW! this is the prolongue. it's not written in much detail or anything. The main purpose for this is because it's main purpose is to string together the gaps inbetween Keiths life. so this prologue pulls from the facts of his history, and then I added some stuff that didn't happen to try and put it all together. but I will follow up with chapter one soon. so hold on tight folks.

This is great! I love how you worked out Keith's backstory. His is a complicated mess and varies from the show in the manga, making his past hard to follow. I think you fill in the gaps nicely! What a setup!

Keith definitely deserves more love! He is such a great character!
